Discover the Tables Architectural Digest Calls “Incredibly Cool”

AND ELLE DÉCOR SAYS “AAH”

Architectural Digest calls them “incredibly cool. ”ELLE Décor  says they will “make you say ‘aah’ as soon as you walk in the door.” In the realm of luxury furnishings, shelter editors have literally seen it all. Usually over and over again. So, just what has these discerning taste makers so excited?-more-->https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story   these-incredibly-cool-new-stone-tables-ship-flat-pack-and-are-made-sans-mechanical-attachments"

A NEW INNOVATION

It’s  a new capsule collection of natural stone tables. A collaboration between DAVANI and INC Architecture and Design, Lamé tables ship flat-pack. So they're easily assembled by simply interlocking the stone slabs.

SIMPLE YET COMPLEX

Then gravity takes over, holding the tables together by their own weight. The tables use neither hardware nor fasteners. Noted architectural writer Jessica Ritz recently "https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/these-incredibly-cool-new-stone-tables-ship-flat-pack-and-are-made-sans-mechanical-attachments profiled the collection in AD Pro. She says, “In both concept and execution, it’s an exemplary case study of how simplicity belies complexity.” The collection includes nesting, occasional and dining tables.

ARCHITECTURAL INGENUITY

The design process combines architectural expertise with exacting stone fabrication and engineering. The freedom of shape made possible through computer-aided stone cutting, combined with traditional stone carving techniques make this dreamy oversized-puzzle a reality. The nesting tables make particularly interesting use of the curved form. Each table forms little nooks for the others, yet they may be used separately as well.

DESIGN AHEAD OF THE CURVE

This sense of softness from a literally rock-hard material is helped along by their shape. Inspired by French mathematician Gabriel Lamé, the tables combine elegance with an organic form. M. Lamé was credited with discovering the Lamé curve, or super-ellipse, which numerically describes a geometric shape that exists somewhere between a rectangle and an ellipse. The soft, gentle profiles of these tables are based on the Lamé curve.

LUXURY FOR ALL

Whether you’re drawn to their incredible, architect-y coolness or their soothing, organic nature, you can be sure a Lamé table will add something truly innovative to your next design project.
